We source OEM CWS hardware through our distributor network, but for vanity tops and shower surrounds we often quote Silestone or Cambria equivalents that match the original dimensions with better scratch resistance. The gotcha with CWS Builder Grade is the non-standard 18-inch side-splash height; most aftermarket replacements are 16-inch or 22-inch, so the wall cuts show unless you measure carefully. For Select Series shower doors, the roller wheel diameter changed mid-run from 3/4-inch to 7/8-inch, and the wrong wheel binds the track within a month.

Signs Your CWS Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

• Soft or discolored vanity toe kick. Water wicks up from unsealed gaps between the cabinet base and flooring, and the particleboard CWS used in Builder Grade swells before you notice the leak. By the time the finish bubbles, the cabinet box is usually compromised.
• Cracked or missing grout in shower corners. Anaheim’s mineral-heavy water accelerates grout degradation, but the real problem is often movement in the CWS fiberglass pan or an unbonded tile substrate. Hairline cracks at the wall-to-floor joint mean water is getting behind the surround.

• Chronic exhaust fan noise without airflow. CWS bath packages often included low-CFM fans that can’t clear humidity from a modern airtight Anaheim home. The motor runs, but the blade spins slow from dust loading or the duct is undersized for the run length.

What goes wrong fast: cutting a fiberglass shower surround without dust containment sends respirable glass fibers through the HVAC; moving a toilet flange even two inches breaks the wet venting in ways the Anaheim building inspector will catch; and the waterproofing membrane under tile - the bonded polyethylene or liquid-applied layer that keeps mold out of your walls - has a six-hour working window and specific cure times that vary with humidity.
