Cover Kitchen Remodeling: The Anaheim Owner’s Guide

A full Cover kitchen remodel in Anaheim typically runs $14,000-$45,000 installed, with smaller projects starting around $9,000. We stock Cover-compatible cabinet lines, hardware, and finishing components, and we can usually schedule your free estimate within 48 hours. Most Anaheim homeowners realize their Cover kitchen needs attention when cabinet hinges sag, drawer glides stick, or the original particleboard boxes start swelling near the sink where the plumbing seal failed years ago.

Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover manufactures kitchen systems across several product tiers, and the replacement approach differs by generation. Pre-2015 Cover cabinets used a ½-inch particleboard box with a thermofoil front; post-2015 lines shifted to ¾-inch plywood boxes with painted MDF or wood fronts. The hinge boring pattern changed in 2018 from the older 35mm cup with 3mm offset to a full-overlay 0mm offset, which means replacement doors from one era won’t mount cleanly on boxes from another without adapter plates.

To identify your Cover series, check the interior sticker on the hinge-side of any upper cabinet; the SKU prefix tells the story. CT- and CS- prefixes indicate contractor-grade particleboard boxes. HW- and PW- prefixes denote the heavier plywood construction. If you’re matching hardware, bring one hinge and one drawer glide to the estimate. We carry Blum and Salice equivalents that fit Cover’s boring specs, and we’ll show you the OEM part beside the aftermarket option so you can see the $8-$22 per-hinge difference in real time.

Signs Your Cover Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

Signs Your Cover Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
  • Doors hang crooked or won’t stay closed. The original Cover hinges used a zinc alloy cup that fatigues after 8-12 years of daily use in Anaheim’s dry heat. Once the cup wall cracks, the spring tension goes and the door drifts no matter how you adjust the screws.
  • Drawers bind, stick, or fall off their tracks. Cover’s standard 75-pound-rated epoxy-coated slides degrade faster near coastal moisture or where steam from the cooktop rises into the cabinet. We see this most in Anaheim homes west of the 5 freeway where morning fog lingers.
  • Particleboard boxes swell or delaminate near sinks and dishwashers. The CT-series boxes use a water-resistant label, not water-resistant construction. A slow drip from a supply line or repeated countertop spills seep into the edge banding and the box mushrooms outward. By the time you see the bulge, the substrate is compromised.
  • Thermofoil doors bubble or peel at the edges. Anaheim’s summer heat pushes attic temperatures above 140°F, and that thermal cycling degrades the adhesive bond on older thermofoil fronts. The bubble usually starts at the stile-rail joint where the film is stretched thinnest.
  • Countertop seams separate or the substrate softens. Cover’s builder-grade laminate tops use a 45-pound density particleboard core. Water migration through the seam or around an undermount sink cutout turns that core to oatmeal. You press the counter and it gives.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Component Anaheim Price Range
Full kitchen remodel (Cover-compatible) $14,000-$45,000
Small kitchen refresh $9,000-$20,000
Cabinet installation (new boxes) $4,000-$13,000
Countertop installation $2,000-$6,500
Backsplash installation $800-$2,500
Kitchen island installation $3,000-$10,000

What drives the spread: box material (plywood vs. particleboard), door style and finish level, countertop material, and whether we reconfigure the layout or keep existing footprints. Under Clause 1 of The Haven Standard, you get a written price before any work starts, with every line item specified: demo, disposal, rough electrical, rough plumbing, cabinets, counters, backsplash, trim, and final cleaning. No change proceeds without a signed change order. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation; manufacturer warranties cover the materials.

DIY or Call Us?

There’s honest work a homeowner can do: measure your cabinet openings with a tape and notepad, photograph the hinge and slide hardware, and use a moisture meter on any suspect box near plumbing. That documentation saves us an hour and you money.

Where DIY goes wrong is the sequencing. Kitchen remodeling isn’t one trade, it’s five: demo, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, and finish. We’ve arrived at Anaheim jobs where the homeowner pulled the old cabinets, discovered the wall wasn’t square, and now the new boxes won’t shim true. Or they set the base cabinets level but didn’t account for the granite overhang, and the dishwasher won’t open past 60 degrees. We fix those situations, but the rescue costs more than calling us first.

One safety note: if your remodel involves moving a gas range or adding a cooktop downdraft, that’s licensed-gasfitter work per California code. We pull the permit and coordinate the inspection. Call (562) 245-4592 to schedule your free estimate and we’ll walk the job with you.
