Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU: The Anaheim Owner’s Guide

Caesarstone home additions and ADU projects in Anaheim typically run $45,000-$130,000 for full additions and $90,000-$220,000 for detached ADUs, with Caesarstone surfaces integrated into kitchenettes, wet bars, and full secondary kitchens. We stock and install Caesarstone-compatible substrates, support brackets, and moisture-barrier assemblies sized for the brand’s 1.2 cm and 2 cm slabs, and we carry the full line on our trucks for Anaheim projects. Most homeowners discover their Caesarstone surface needs attention when hairline cracks appear at sink cutouts or when the substrate beneath a kitchenette countertop has settled unevenly after the framing crew moved on.

Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone surfaces in home additions and ADUs fall into three series that affect how we build the support structure beneath them. The Classico collection, which includes popular Anaheim choices like Calacatta Nuvo and Statuario Maximus, runs 2 cm thick and requires a 5/8-inch plywood substrate with 16-inch-on-center framing. The Supernatural series, including Arabetto and Montblanc, is available in both 2 cm and 3 cm; the 3 cm option lets us skip the plywood buildup on properly leveled cabinets, but the weight jumps to roughly 21 pounds per square foot, so we upgrade to L-brackets at all seams. The Metropolitan series, with concrete-look finishes like Airy Concrete and Rugged Concrete, is porous enough that we specify a full epoxy-backed installation in ADU kitchenettes where humidity fluctuates more than in primary residences.

To identify your exact slab, check the sticker on the underside edge of the countertop near the sink cutout. It lists the series name, color number, and manufacturing date. Caesarstone warranties the material for 10 years residential, but that warranty transfers to the original purchaser only, and it does not cover installation labor or the substrate we build beneath it. Rowan Construction Group Anaheim is an independent contractor, not affiliated with Caesarstone, so we source through our verified distributor and warrant our own installation work separately under the Haven Standard.

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
  • Hairline cracks radiating from sink or cooktop cutouts. These start when the substrate beneath the slab flexes more than 1/16 inch over a 24-inch span. In Anaheim’s older neighborhoods like the Colony District, we see this where original 2×4 walls were reframed without upgrading the cabinet support to match Caesarstone’s rigidity requirements.
  • Visible seam separation or lippage between adjacent slabs. The epoxy bond failed, usually because the seam was stressed during seasonal humidity swings or because the initial installation used a color-matched adhesive that degraded in direct sun. ADUs with west-facing kitchenettes see this more often.
  • Dull or etched patches that won’t polish back. This is surface damage, not substrate failure, but it signals that the homeowner or a previous contractor used an acidic cleaner on a finish that Caesarstone rates only for pH-neutral maintenance. We see this on Airy Concrete and other honed finishes near Anaheim’s resort corridor, where turnover cleaning crews cut corners.
  • Soft spots or a hollow sound when tapping the countertop. The adhesive bed has delaminated from the substrate, often where moisture got behind the backsplash or where a dishwasher leak went undetected. In garage conversions and ground-level ADUs, this correlates with slab-on-grade moisture wicking.
  • Countertop pulling away from the wall at the backsplash joint. The wall settled or the cabinet run twisted. In Anaheim’s hillside areas and anywhere with expansive clay soil, we check for this during our initial site survey because it worsens until the slab itself cracks.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Component Anaheim Price Range
Caesarstone slab (2 cm, standard color) $2,000-$4,500 installed
Caesarstone slab (3 cm or premium finish) $3,500-$6,500 installed
Plywood substrate replacement $400-$900
Cabinet reinforcement / L-brackets $250-$600
Full ADU kitchenette with Caesarstone $8,500-$18,000
Complete home addition (Caesarstone surfaces included) $45,000-$130,000

The range depends on three factors: slab thickness and finish tier, whether we’re matching existing stone in a primary residence, and how much structural work the substrate needs. We deliver a written line-item quote before any demolition starts, under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard. That quote includes the slab, fabrication, installation, sink and faucet cutouts, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise on the workmanship. No change proceeds without a signed change order, which is how we’ve kept projects within a few percent of the agreed price across 4,000-plus jobs since 2007.

An owner can safely check the sticker location and photograph any cracks for documentation. What you should not attempt: lifting a 2 cm Caesarstone slab, which weighs roughly 14 pounds per square foot and will crack under its own weight if carried flat by one person, or cutting a sink cutout with anything less than a water-fed bridge saw and vacuum attachment. The silica dust from dry-cutting engineered stone is hazardous and regulated under California’s Title 17. We carry HEPA-contained cutting equipment and the wet-fabrication setup that keeps the slab and the crew intact.
