For the paver system, the OEM spec calls for Belgard Aqua Roc permeable pavers in the Sierra color blend, but we have also installed quality aftermarket equivalents from Techo-Bloc that match the 80mm thickness and the 8.5 percent open-area ratio. The aftermarket units carry the same ASTM C936 rating and cost 12-18 percent less per square foot, though color matching to existing faded pavers in Anaheim’s UV exposure can be imperfect. Hand tamping will not achieve the density required to prevent the same failure from recurring in 18 months.
