CWS Bathroom Remodeling: The Anaheim Owner’s Guide

CWS bathroom remodeling systems in Anaheim typically run $9,000-$28,000 installed, depending on whether you’re refreshing a guest bath or gutting a master with waterproofing, tile, and fixture upgrades. We stock CWS-compatible vanities, shower enclosures, and hardware at our Anaheim warehouse, and most bathroom remodels we quote can start within two weeks of written approval. Homeowners usually realize something’s wrong when grout cracks spread across the shower pan, the vanity cabinet swells at the toe kick from past leaks, or the original fiberglass surround starts flexing and yellowing after fifteen years of hard Anaheim water.

Which CWS Models This Applies To

CWS bathroom product lines span three main series: the Builder Grade (BG) line sold through 2008, the Select Series (SS) from 2009-2019, and the current ProLine introduced in 2020. The Builder Grade used 30-inch and 36-inch vanity cabinets with integrated tops; the Select Series moved to separate cultured-marble tops and introduced the 48-inch double-bowl layout; ProLine uses standard 21-inch depth cabinets with quartz-compatible support frames. Check the sticker inside the cabinet door or on the shower enclosure frame - the model prefix tells you which hardware, hinges, and bracket spacing you need.

We source OEM CWS hardware through our distributor network, but for vanity tops and shower surrounds we often quote Silestone or Cambria equivalents that match the original dimensions with better scratch resistance. The gotcha with CWS Builder Grade is the non-standard 18-inch side-splash height; most aftermarket replacements are 16-inch or 22-inch, so the wall cuts show unless you measure carefully. For Select Series shower doors, the roller wheel diameter changed mid-run from 3/4-inch to 7/8-inch, and the wrong wheel binds the track within a month.

Signs Your CWS Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

Signs Your CWS Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
  • Soft or discolored vanity toe kick. Water wicks up from unsealed gaps between the cabinet base and flooring, and the particleboard CWS used in Builder Grade swells before you notice the leak. By the time the finish bubbles, the cabinet box is usually compromised.
  • Cracked or missing grout in shower corners. Anaheim’s mineral-heavy water accelerates grout degradation, but the real problem is often movement in the CWS fiberglass pan or an unbonded tile substrate. Hairline cracks at the wall-to-floor joint mean water is getting behind the surround.
  • Fiberglass surround that flexes when pressed. CWS shower units lose rigidity as the gel coat wears and the fiberglass layers delaminate from thermal cycling. A solid surround should feel like a wall; any give means the structural resin is breaking down.
  • Sticky or derailed shower door rollers. The nylon wheels in CWS Select Series hardware flatten after five to seven years of daily use. Once the wheel profile distorts, the door jumps the track or grinds metal against metal.
  • Chronic exhaust fan noise without airflow. CWS bath packages often included low-CFM fans that can’t clear humidity from a modern airtight Anaheim home. The motor runs, but the blade spins slow from dust loading or the duct is undersized for the run length.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Scope Price Range What’s Included
CWS vanity replacement (single, stock size) $800-$3,000 Removal, new cabinet, top, faucet, plumbing reconnect
Shower surround replacement (fiberglass insert) $3,000-$8,500 Demo, pan, walls, trim, basic fixtures

Tub-to-shower conversion $3,500-$10,000 Removal, pan, walls, glass door or curtain, plumbing

What drives the range: condition of the subfloor and wall framing once we open it, whether the drain location moves, and material grade. We quote flat. Under Clause 1 of The Haven Standard, the price is written before anyone starts, and no change proceeds without a signed change order. Every bathroom job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise and a documented photo record of pre-existing conditions and completed work.

There’s safe checking, and then there’s work that needs a permit. An owner can confirm the CWS model number, photograph the damage, and verify the water shutoff valve operates. That’s useful information for any contractor.

What goes wrong fast: cutting a fiberglass shower surround without dust containment sends respirable glass fibers through the HVAC; moving a toilet flange even two inches breaks the wet venting in ways the Anaheim building inspector will catch; and the waterproofing membrane under tile - the bonded polyethylene or liquid-applied layer that keeps mold out of your walls - has a six-hour working window and specific cure times that vary with humidity. We’ve opened too many DIY showers in the Platinum Triangle area where the membrane was skipped or the flood test wasn’t run. The repair costs triple because the tile has to come back off.

We’re not affiliated with CWS. We’re an independent contractor that knows their product lines because we’ve removed and replaced hundreds of them across Anaheim. Call (562) 245-4592 and we’ll schedule a free estimate with a written line-item quote.
